Introduction:
Weight loss is one of the most widely discussed topics in America today; yet, it continues to be one of the most ignored. In my opinion, we continue to ignore the topic for three reasons: we are scared of the consequences of being overweight and obese, we feel like we don't have the time to dedicate to weight loss, or we just don't feel like putting the effort into it. I was afraid of the consequences of being overweight from undergoing multiple surgeries on my leg, so I chose to ignore the topic until I just couldn't take it anymore. I began my journey to health when I realized that I had a weight issue, regardless of whether I could help it or not. I made the decision a month ago that I was not going to live another day without trying my best to be healthy. You can do this too, regardless of which diet you chose to participate in, or whether you chose to participate in a professional diet at all.
The purpose of this blog is to track the progress of my weight loss and personal goals in a manner which will address the issue of obesity in America while providing motivation through personal testimony and experiences. I hope to prove to America that it IS possible to give up the foods that you love in order to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.
